This marks the beginning of a series of romantic series of events that befall Victor, his family and close friends. Creatively and in a dynamic way, Shelley uses three narrators in the entire novel, Victor, the creature and Walton. On the day he met with Walter in England, victor learns of his brother’s sudden death through a letter from his father. Travelling to Geneva for his brother’s burial, victor horrifyingly realizes that the creature he created was responsible for his brother’s death. When Victor saw the creature the night he got to Geneva, he exclaimed, â€Å"He was the murderer! † (Shelly 189), realizing that he was the real murder. Even before this could sink in, his sister is acquainted for the murder of her brother, and faces execution. Victor knows that his sister did not commit the crime. However, he knew the futility of trying to convince the magistrate that a creature was responsible. Fearing that people would regard him a lunatic, he keeps quiet, only to fall into depression. The author then introduces the creature as the next narrator in the novel. Victor and the creature visit the creature’s hideout, a small cottage with a live fire that the creature claims to have maintained to keep alive for a long time. The introduction of the creature as a narrator in the novel gives it a twist of events. For a moment, the audience forgets the predicament that Victor was in. instead, we emerge in the ocean of sentiments, as the creature shares its captivating story of self-discovery, self-development and realization. The author introduces the theme of physical and emotional isolation of the narrator the creature. The discovery of the fact that he scared people, coupled with the loneliness of spending days alone makes the creature not only an emotional wreck but also equally a loner. Realizing the differences between him and the neighbours living next door was equally disturbing for the creature. Neither could he walk openly and in vill ages for fear of scaring away the people. Perhaps loneliness was what the creature knew best. Comparing his life with that of the sorrowful neighbours, the creature realized that he was not human. With this realization, he discovered that he was the only one of his kind in the world. People drove him away whenever he appeared in their midst. Getting into a deal with the creature, Victor agrees to create a female companion for the creature. Victor’s predicament, as he takes over the narration of the story continues.
